More about Me
As an Italian-Polish American, I grew up watching my family cook and bake and loving the magic of flour, butter, eggs, and sugar becoming something magical. As a teacher, I loved celebrating my students' birthdays with cake and candles! After spending a fortune on store-bought cakes, I thought, "I can learn to do better."
This specific class of students started a game every week called "The Broken Spoon Award" and we even had a song. A little broken plastic spoon was awarded to a person who despite challenges, was doing their best to scoop up every bit of good life had to offer. After all, we are all just broken spoons. Five years later, here we are: The Broken Spoon Cakery.
